Uncover terrible secrets below the sea when sci-fi survival horror Hidden Deep launches into Steam Early Access on January 24th

Ever wonder what’s beyond the waves of the ocean? What might be found by plunging deeper and deeper into the ink-black recesses of the earth where anything- terrestrial or otherwise- could be lurking? Not only that, but what would happen if something were found? How would you handle the pressure, literal and otherwise?

Officially releasing on in Early Access on Steam on January 24th, 2022, Hidden Deep aims to let brave players experience just that situation. Developed by Cogwheel Software and published by Daedalic Entertainment, the game takes cues from classics like Aliens, The Thing and other films from the 80’s and 90’s. Controlling a team of surveyors trying to survive, players must unravel the mysteries of the cave system that was researched by a team that has gone missing. In a dark and claustrophobic 2-D presentation, the team will use a variety of tools ranging from grappling hooks and radars to more offensive (or defensive) items like weapons and heavy machinery to help them maneuver and hopefully find what they are looking for.

If you’re worried about going it alone, don’t be. During the game’s upcoming Early Access, local and multiplayer co-op will become available so that players can brave the system together. Given the promise of a 20 or so hour long story mode to explore and a challenge mode to give even the most brazen explorers a struggle, getting all of the help you can may be in your best interest.

While Hidden Deep still has a little time before it comes to the general public, the Closed Beta is currently running on Steam until January 3rd so anyone interested can apply directly through the store page there to check it out. Co-op through local means or through Remote Play has just recently been added to the beta for certain missions so that two people can see how the experience is shaping up.
